Genie 3
Since its inception in 2007, the Pro-Ject RPM1 Genie has been an overwhelming success. Combining expert analogue components with a budget suitable to the mass market, Pro-Ject have made a stylistic masterpiece which sounds as good as it looks. Now in its third generation, the RPM 1.3 benefits from a higher-quality A/C synchronized motor with improved housing – ensuring greater speed stability and resonance reduction. The latest guise is also the first to come with Pro-Ject’s traditional gravity principle antiskate weight.
This stunning manual turntable is a must for any audiophile on a budget, as the inclusion of a pre-fitted Ortofon 2m Red cartridge really allows this deck to shine.

“This latest Genie proves a very decent performer at the price.”
“Basically it’s a bright, crisp, spry sounding deck, giving a surprisingly stable sound that doesn't punish piano music – always a great test of a turntables speed accuracy.”
“The deck can keep its cool with testy programme material sound even on high modulated pieces.”
“Moving to some modern electronics in the shape of Kraftwerk, and again the Genie magically makes for the rhythmic heart of the music, pushing the groove along with aplomb.”
“The deck sets up an open and quite wide sound stage – a feat that many budget CD players wouldn't pull off – inside which is a wealth of detail.”
“There is a sense of a musical event, something that not every deck here delivers.”
“Overall though, a very strong performance given its price.”
“Excellent starter deck, especially if you’re the type that likes to tweak.”
